ASSORTED PROTECTIVE SPECTACLES / GOGGLES, LOT OF FIVE, including a metal and leather Odd Fellows or Masonic-style so-called "Hoodwink" ritual initiation device, a seemingly unused "Resistal" pair marketed by Strauss & Buegeleisen of NY with very wordy two-sided paper advertisements attached touting the lens' shatter-proof quality, some welders' goggles, and a "Fendall" pair with flip-down blue tinted lenses. Various makers. Early to mid 20th century. 7 1/2" LOA.Literature: J. William Rosenthal - Spectacles and Other Vision Aids, p. 302, fig. 574 and p. 304, fig. 577.Condition Very good condition overall, some scratching to a few lenses, slight bending to frames and arms, cracking or drying to leather of Odd Fellows example, and other wear-and-tear including separations to cloth components or rust/corrosion to metals.
