STAMPED NEW YORK DECORATED STONEWARE JUGS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each of beehive form with applied strap handle, Albany-slip glazed interior, comprising a "2" gallon capacity example stamped "N CLARKE JR / ATHENS NY" and an approximately two-gallon capacity example stamped "J. FISHER & Co. / LYONS, N.Y." with additional double arrow stamp. Each having brushed cobalt floral design to front, Clark example with additional cobalt across stamp. Nathan Clark, Jr., Athens; Jacob Fisher, Lyons, NY. Second half 19th century. 13 1/2" HOA.Condition Clark example undamaged having some staining to lower body; Fisher example mostly undamaged, except having a minor flake to mouth and some staining to mouth and handle.
