Fully hallmarked and in excellent condition dating to c187o! Crisply stamped in an unusual circle " N CLARK JR ATHENS N Y 3 " and highlighted in blue cobalt above the freehand blue cobalt elaborate leafy stemmed double bloom floral decoration. This is the mark of Nathan Clark Jr., who ran the family pottery in Athens from 1843 to 1891 .A beautifully decorated and highly collectible blue cobalt decorated stoneware jug in an easy to display three gallon size. Offered in excellent aged condition with no chips, nips, cracks, hairlines or repairs but for some minor nibbles at the spout as you can see in the photographs.
