STAMPED PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, each having Albany-slip glazed interior, comprising a "H.B. [P]FALTZGRAFF / YORK PA" jug, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with ringed mouth and applied strap handle featuring brushed cobalt tulip, additional cobalt to handle terminals, and a "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG" crock, "2" gallon capacity mark, wide-mouth form with incised shoulder ring and applied arched handles featuring a stenciled cobalt design, additional cobalt across stamp. Harry B. Pfaltzgraff, York; Frederick H. Cowden, Harrisburg, PA. Second half 19th century. 11 1/4" HOA, crock 9 7/8" H, 9" D rim.Condition Jug undamaged; crock having an approximately 4" L rim crack and each handle with a chip or minor chipping.
