CONTINENTAL CERAMIC BLACK AMERICANA FIGURAL HEAD HUMIDORS, LOT OF FIVE, comprising one wearing a red hat with double visor, one depicting character Sunny Jim, one sailor with "ELISABETH" to hat band, one young gentleman wearing a green cap, and one gentleman wearing a bow tie and cap with cigar, four having sponge holder tops. Marks to underside include various impressed numerals. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 8 3/4" HOA.Literature: Parallels Horowitz - Figural Humidors, Mostly Victorian, figure with cigar p. 55, fig. 250, p. 56, fig. 255, and p. 57. double visor fig. 257, sailor fig. 258, and Sunny Jim fig. 260.Condition Green cap example undamaged; double visor and sailor examples mostly undamaged except having a flake to top of hat or hat band; figure with cigar having some scattered flakes, mostly minor; Sunny Jim having a hairline to face and a flake to top underside back edge.
