ASSORTED WOOD / LEATHER AND OPTOMETRIST ADVERTISING SPECTACLES CASES, LOT OF 13, primarily oblong frog-mouth hinged cases of various sizes and a couple slip cases and clamshell style, most with advertising for Pennsylvania optometrists including firms from York, Williamsport, and Norristown, plus Auburn ME and Taylorville IL, and tourist attractions including Delaware Water Gap PA and "Rothbury Hotel". A few cases containing their likely original steel-frame spectacles. Various makers. Late 19th/early 20th century. 6 7/8" LOA.Published: Rothbury Hotel example pictured J. William Rosenthal - Spectacles and Other Vision Aids, pg. 324, fig. 627.Condition Good to excellent overall condition, a few with moderate cracking and/or splits to leather or fabric surfaces, some tears to paper, some metal components rusted.
