This is a handcrafted Navajo rug. The Yei (Yeibichai) are ceremonial dancers who performed rituals to attract or exorcize beings from the spirit world. The Yei, viewed as holy people, were woven into the rugs wearing ceremonial clothing such as moccasins, arrows, clouds, stars and fox pelts.One noticeable stain, as shown in photos, otherwise some light fraying is evident.
