This beautiful hand-woven woolen Navajo Sash was made in the 70"s by a Navajo woman on a Navajo loom. IT is woven from wool yarn in gorgeous earth colors of red, cream and dark brown. The sash shows much work and very skilled artistry. It is traditional to the Navajo women in its weaving technique, earth colors, woolen yarn, and design. A Navajo woman wore this during special times in her life - moccasins that were symbolic to her. This sash measures 2.25" x 96". It is a personal artifact that captures the history, artistry, and culture of Navajo women. Just a wonderful piece for a collection.
