Original box w/illustrated lid contains 9.5" tall tin litho, vinyl and plastic battery toy w/rooted hair, fabric outfit and paper "Arthur A-Go-Go" drumhead cover. Made in Japan, by Alps, 1960s. Box lid features a not so disguised illustration of Ringo Starr on main and top/bottom lid panels while left/right side panels have Beatles-inspired illustration. Lid shows some handling wear and has some moisture staining to left side panel and box bottom; w/1-3/8" line tear to right side panel. Box is Fine overall. Toy has some lt. wear to main drumhead cover and white turtleneck is evenly aged. Toy o/w shows little wear and works, w/arms drumming and foot tapping cymbals. VF. One of the neatest of the unofficial 1960s Beatles items. Michael Lartigaut Collection.
