ASSORTED PLASTIC LORGNETTES / FOLDING SPECTACLES, LOT OF SIX, comprising three rhinestone-decorated folding cat's eye styled lorgnettes, a golden-veined lucite non-folding lorgnette, and two faux-tortoiseshell folding spectacle pairs in leather pouches. Various makers. Early and mid 20th century. 5 1/8" LOA.Literature: J. William Rosenthal - Spectacles and Other Vision Aids, p. 136, fig. 272.Condition Very good condition overall, white and gray rhinestone examples plus gold-vein undamaged, spectacles in blue pouch undamaged but with moderate wear to pouch; remaining pair of spectacles with a crack and small loss to one lens frame, a similar crack to one lens frame of black cat's eye example.
