7" overall w/1.75" cello. National Equipment Co. back paper. Year of campaign is handwritten in pen below text. Sulzer was elected governor of New York in 1912, and was ultimately impeached in 1913 after crossing Tammany Hall. This bred a bitter resentment and rivalry w/Al Smith, who was the leader in the state house and led the impeachment. Sulzer ran for governor again in 1914 on a joint American Party/Prohibition Party ticket, but came in third place. He was able to siphon enough votes from the Tammany-backed Democratic candidate to spoil the election and give it to the Republican nominee. Ribbon has even aging w/horizontal separation along bottom right edge. Cello has only light wear. Overall Fine.
