14x18" offset print on thin white stock produced before the show for promotion. The lower third of this PNW flyer poster is designed by Mike King who utilized the cover art from Sonic Youth's recently released album Goo that was produced by artist Raymond Pettibon. Illustrated in the King, Herring & Gore authored book Maximum Plunder on p. 183. Advertising concerts Aug. 23 & 24 at Melody Ballroom in Portland, OR and Moore Theater in Seattle, WA. Text at top left "Plus Two Hot Bands- Nirvana & STP (the all-female group featuring Julia Cafritz from Pussy Galore). Two horizontal creases, a small surface abrasion just to the left of "Plue These" and moderate handling wear. VF. The Goo cover is among the most iconic images in rock history and Nirvana would release Nevermind two months to the day of the Seattle show. An ideal candidate for framing with the iconic Pettibon graphics and designed by the prolific King. Goo was Sonic Youth's major label debut on David Geffen's DGC label released less than two months before this show. The New Yorkers were friends and major influences on the entire grunge scene and were instrumental is DGC signing Nirvana.
