ROCKINGHAM GLAZE POTTERY FIGURAL ARTICLES, LOT OF THREE, each with mottled brown glaze, comprising an unmarked Bennington-attributed Toby snuff jar molded in the form of a portly man with a wide-brimmed hat cover, a single-hole dip inkwell in the form of a sleeping or reclining young boy, and a pitcher in the form of an upright begging Staffordshire-style spaniel dog with a tricorn hat cover. Various makers. Mid to late 19th century. 11 3/4" HOA.Condition Very good overall condition, spaniel pitcher body virtually undamaged with minor wear and some manufacturing-related glaze skips around base edge, and with some light flaking to underside of hat cover; inkwell with heavy surface wear and a 1" discolored surface line extending up from base edge into body; Toby snuff jar with moderate to heavy wear and a few restored/repainted chips to hat brim and an unrestored chip to base edge at right side of cloak.
