WILLIAM H. SEWARD "NORTH TO THE FUTURE" ALASKA PURCHASE CENTENNIAL 1867-1967 MEDALLIC ART CO. NEW YORK This Medallion is a Vintage 1967 Heavy Bronze Commemorative. "NORTH TO THE FUTURE" WILLIAM H. SEWARD was Designed by R. Beck. Minted by the Medallic Art Company of N.Y. This original bronze medallion was produced for the Alaska Purchase Centennial of 1867 - 1967. The Medallion is approx 2-1/2" or 63mm in diameter & approx 3mm in thickness and weighs 150 grams. It is Stamped on the Edge: MEDALLIC ART CO. N.Y. BRONZE. There are Some Locations of Light Surface Discoloration to the Medallion called "Production Freckles" or "Sneeze Spots". They happen when small particles or drops of the minting chemicals or lubricants are left behind from the minting process. They don't usually appear until the coin ages and is exposed to normal breathable air. This coin does not have any indication of wear. All the marks including the one below "Seward" are part of the "Rough" appearance incorporated into the design of the Die by Beck.The Obverse has a ring with a star containing a 49, a steam engine, a figure with a hat, and an eagle atop a steeple / ALASKA PURCHASE CENTENNIAL 1867-1967The Reverse has the Profile portrait bust of William H.
