5x7". 31 pgs. Published by Workers Library Publishers in June 1932. The Bonus Army was a large group of unemployed veterans who came to Washington in 1932 to take part in the protests which were staged to get Congress to pay the promised bonus to WWI veterans immediately rather than in 1945 as the legislation passed in 1924 had stipulated. Already unpopular due to the economic woes of the Great Depression, the Hoover Administration's harsh response to the Bonus Army hurt him greatly and helped contribute to his defeat to Franklin Roosevelt in 1932. Some aging along the outer edges on the cover, otherwise light handling wear. VF.
