This exceptional and highly sought-after antique composition Kewpie doll doubles as a vanity or boudoir talcum powder holder, making it a rare find for collectors. Standing at 7 inches tall, this Kewpie is designed with large painted, side-glancing eyes featuring hi-lites and finely painted upper lashes, a watermelon-smile mouth, a nice cheek blush, a pug nose, and lovely blue molded wings. Its legs are molded together for standing, and it originally had loop-strung arms with starfish-shaped, chubby hands, although both arms are now missing.Uniquely tailored for display in a lady's boudoir, this Kewpie includes the original metal powder sprinkler feature inserted in the back of its head and still contains the original talcum powder. It bears the front label as well as the rare, complete manufacturer's label on the base of the feet. Adding to its rarity and charm, the Kewpie is dressed in an outfit complete with a hat, showing blonde hair on the front and back, which is uncommon for such dolls.While the doll is in overall good condition for its age, there are condition issues to note: some of the lace on the clothing is damaged and thin. Produced between 1910-1915, this Kewpie doll is not only a delightful piece of history but also a collector's gem due to its detailed features and original components, despite its imperfections. GE
