1904 LOUISIANA PURCHASE and 1893 COLUMBIAN EXPOS So-Called "PAX DOLLAR" or MEDALThis is a very nice "Exposition Souvenir Medal" that is also listed as a So-Called "Pax Dollar" from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, held in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904. The Exposition was held to celebrate the Centennial of President Thomas Jefferson's 1803 Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon's France.The Medal shows the bust of "Peace" or Pax on the obverse commemorating the "Louisiana Purchase of 1803" . Yet the reverse is dedicated to the 1892-3 "World's Columbian Exposition" that had been held in Chicago! A real "Exposition" souvenir.Weight: 6.09 Gram, 38 Millimeter, Aluminum."So-Called Dollars" by Harold E. Hibler and Charles V. It has seen some hands and has some minor rim damage and other small marks in the soft aluminum.
