1881 N342-1C (Type 2) Between The Acts Cigarettes ACTRESSES -Mme Materna -Very Early. One of the absolute first series of Tobacco cards ever produced were the N342 cards which were available as early as 1879-1880 and produced over a number of years, this second type of N342-1C with the curved/ornate back was almost certainly made around 1881 and a few years later (many years before the first baseball Tobacco cards were made). The second type of the N342-1C made had the curved/ornate backs (like this one does) & on front had what appear to be two square designs in the upper corners.
