Diane Uchimura started in the Hawaiian garment industry in the late 1930's designing for several other firms before she ventured into business on her own.In 1943, she started making women's wear in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Aloha Shirt was first sold at "Musashi-ya Shoten" in Honolulu. "Musashi-ya" was established by Japanese immigrant Chotaro Miyamoto in 1904. This particular clothing label is from a Hawaiian shirt.
