Arthur Lasenby Liberty opened his own business in 1875 in London. It was a shop selling ornaments and fabric from Japan. In 1884 it was introduced the costume department. In 1890, a branch of Liberty's was opened in Paris, France, but it was closed in 1932. Today Liberty is still known for the fabrics and scarves that made them famous. This particular Liberty clothing label is from a 1990s blouse.
