Pierre Alexandre Claudius Balmain was born in 1914 in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, France. He was a French fashion designer and founder of Belmain fashion house in 1945. After Belmain death in 1982, the house was run by Erik Mortense, Antoine Alistair Blair, Herve Pierre, Oscar de la Renta, Christophe Decarnin and Olivier Rousteing. This particular Belmain clothing label is from a mid 1950s wool dress.
