7/8" with W&H back paper. Tiny 1/8" cello split on reverse makes very tiny edge bump when viewed from the front but all remains bright and clean. Text reads "Wage Earners' Patriotic League" depicting a pen, mallet, and spade. This group was organized by Col. J.E. Blum and its motto was "Honest Dollars For A Day's Honest Toil." We found a pair of New York Times articles reporting on two of the groups meetings. The first from September 9, 1896 has triple headlines reading "No Free Silver For Them/First Rally Of Wage-Earners' Patriotic League/Remarkable Gathering Of Laboring Men On The East Side-Of Various Political Parties, They Unite In Opposing Bryan And A Sliced Dollar 'Though We Are Laborers,' Said One, 'We Can't Be Bunkoed.'" The second article from October, 1896 is triple headlined "Put Out Bryan Shouters/They Tried To Howl Down Speakers For Gold/Police Take An Active Part In Cooper Union Mass Meeting Of Wage Earners' League-Silver Men Cheered Every Reference To Bryan And Hissed Points Against Him..."
