Yogi BerraBackground: I once won a lot of a few letters that originated from the Dodgers' vaults. This was via the old Mastro Auction house in Illinois around 1992. The herewith offering comes from that lot. It's on the official New York Yankees letterhead. He was then the Yankees' player/manager. It's addressed to Buzzie Bavasi, who was then the Dodgers' GM. Mint typing and signature ("Yogi."). Signed in black felt-tip. Nr Mt paper (extremely clean on both sides, no toning, no blemishes), though there are two light mailing folds. Size: 8.5 x 11". One-of-a-kind.MORE. Berra is no doubt thanking Bavasi for wishing him well in the World Series. This was Berra's one-and-only year as Yankees' manager. Opening Game of the Cards/Yankees' World Series was Oct. 7, 1964. Hence, this was signed by Berra on the eve of Game Three in the Bronx. He was then expecting a contract renewal after the Series (based on the letter's content).Winning bidder needs to add $3.95 for postage and tracking. Returns accepted. I've been a subscriber and occasional advertiser to the major hobby publications, since the early 1970s. My full-page ads have appeared in Autograph Collector (later called Autograph Magazine). This includes the following older issues: Jun '90 p 37; Sept '90 p 25; Jan '91 p 35; Aug '91 p 19; Apr '93 p 7; Oct '94 p 32; Oct '96 p 87 etc.- Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance! There's no need to be unhappy with a signed item. Rather, please return it insured and in the same condition received, for a full refund (less postage cost). I've never sold copies or pre-prints, only originals! Everything listed is guaranteed to pass JSA, PSA/DNA or R.Simon Sports without time restraints. But try to present some proof that it was purchased from me, like a copy of the listing or receipt. All items are sent out parcel post in a thick 6x9" (or larger) brown envelope, regardless of its value. Also with a tracking number. Insurance is usually standard on anything priced at over $99. Handling time is within ONE day of receiving payment (excluding Sundays and Holidays). However, I have NO control if the postal service is slow in its delivery.
