Xtrakit 1/72 Gloster Meteor NF Mk 11/12/14 The Gloster Meteor was modified into a radar carrying night fighter by Armstrong Whitworth and was known as the NF Mk 11. The NF Mk 12 was similar but had a different radar in a slightly longer nose. The NF Mk 14 was the NF Mk 11 with a new two piece 'blown' canopy, replacing the heavier framed version on the NF Mk 11. Xtrakit are part of Hannants, the well known UK model shop. Their range of kits is manufactured on their behalf by various companies. This particular kit is a repackaged Matchbox kit. The Matchbox kit is quite old now but I've seen this kit built up and while it hasn't got the detailing and finesse of more modern kits, with some TLC can make a very presentable model. It is also the only Meteor Night Figher kit available currently in plastic. There are 3 different marking options: A French Air Force NF Mk 11; a RAF NF Mk 12 and a RAF NF Mk 14.
