WWII War Japanese Wounded Badge (Senshou Medal) Gold Gilted.With photo of the owner which is quite rare.Original balsa box in very very good condition.This medal was awarded toSergeant First ClassShin'ichirō 眞一郎 a native of Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture during the war.He presumably enrolled at the age of 22 or so.At the back of the photo he is affectionately referred to as Shin-chan.This is as far as the person whom we talked to remembers.The dates orother major details are not available as the original owner left no furtherrecords.This medal is among many others held in trust and stored in a private collection whose original owners can no more be traced after the curator passed on.This is the same type of medal awarded to the famous Isoroku Yamamoto.(He was wounded during the Russo-Japanese War).Please search the internet formore details.The wounded medal has a Gold-gilt and red enamel cross flory representing four ancient shields, a gold pitted spear head between each arm; the face with a circular central gold-gilt medallion with the head of Kusunoki Masahige in relief within a beaded border.The reverse hascharacters ‘Military Wound Badge’ and ‘Sen’sho’; diameter 31.06mm (1.22 inches); with original two pin suspension.MAIN DIFFERENCE::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::The gold colored read more
