G. Wostenholm Peerless Straight Razor Offered for your consideration is this very nice user grade straight razor from the old Sheffield company George Wostenholm & Sons. The "Peerless" was one of the elite "Wosty" razors and a very fine shaver. This one has a few cosmetic issues but is in very good condition for the age and will make a very nice piece if you are looking to try out straight shaving or to add to your rotation if you have been wanting to try out some Sheffield steel. The blade on this razor is 5/8ths wide and is a full hollow square point. The blade has very minimal hone wear and the edge is in fine condition. There is some staining and light pitting on the tang and on the face of the blade but nothing that affects the cutting edge. The tang is stamped "Geo. Wostenholm & Sons Sheffield, Eng" and on the reverse side says "Trade Mark and the pipe logo". The razor features top jimps for superb grip when wet. The scales are an ivory colored celluloid and feature a three pin design. The scales are in good condition and have no major flaws. The pins hold the blade tight in all positions and the blade centers well within the scales. This razor has been professionally honed and will be shipped to you in shave ready condition out of the package. It has been stropped and sterilized after shave testing. This is a very nice read more
