This is a very nice example of a wonderfully "battle fatigued" Mexican Cavalry Sword which dates from the mid to late 19th Century. The blade is slightly curved and measures 33 inches in length and is well marked on both sides of the ricasso. The brass guard reflects "good honest wear" and frames a leather wrapped hilt which although shows age shrinkage, still wears its original twisted wire wrap and remains good and sturdy. The old metal scabbard is heavily battle scarred with dings and has developed a deep brown patina nevertheless is present and continues to do its job well. Overall measuring 40 inches in length. T is no reserve. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this auction)Effective as of 1-1-07 bids welcomed only from established bidders with (10) or more feed backs.
