Wonderful Antique Scottish Silver Plated Tea Set Rare Maker c1906 mouseover to enlarge Wonderful Antique Scottish Silver Plated Tea Set Rare Maker c1906 A wonderful antique Edwardian three-piece electroplated nickel-silver tea set, from a rarely found Scot's maker . Made of good quality and in an refreshingly neutral style for the period. Bearing sedate embossed fluted decoration, the teapot has been fitted with a ebony handle and removeable finial.Each of the three pieces is supported on four distinctively different feet. Presented in very good - fine condition: see below for more details and definitions. Made by Davis, Duff & Sons in Glasgow. Known to have been in business from c1900 through 1935 (when the register in Glasgow Assay Office as silversmiths. Dated by the registered number to 1906. Teapot Height (top of finial) 17.6cm (7") Length 29.2cm (11�") Capacity 1.430l (2� pints) Jug Height (top of handle) 8.9cm (3�") Capacity .284l (� pint) Sugar Bowl Height (top of handles) 10.1cm (4") Width (handle - handle) 19.7cm (7�") In arguably very good - fine condition, with no damage or repairs to any of the three pieces. There is no loss of plate to the any of the pieces to this set. Bearing the usually inherent scratches which one must reasonably expect on pieces of this age. Impressively clean internally!
