Women's Suffrage Propaganda (Artists' Suffrage League, 1909). Fine+ on Linen. British Poster (29" X 38.5") "Won't You Let Me Help You John?" Joan Harvey Drew Artwork. Using the normally male-dominated medium of political cartoons, suffragette Joan Harvey Drew created several images advocating for British women's voting rights in the early 1900s. She often invoked England's national personification of John Bull in her works, usually depicting him as overworked, stressed, and in need of aid. A first time offer at Heritage, this hand-tinted, stone litho poster has edge wear with small tears, creasing, and mild chipping. There is a mild tear at the top and some moderate toning. Although backed on linen, no touchup has been applied, and the linen has been trimmed to the borders. Fine+ on Linen.HID03201242017 Grade: 65, Service No.: 1428618
