William Henry Harrison Rare Inauguration Medal White metal, 1.375 in. dia. Obverse inscribed, " Maj. Gen. W.H. Harrison / 9th President of the United States ," enclosing an equestrian figure of Harrison to right, with view of President's House in the distance. Reverse inscribed above, " Inauguration / Medal, " and below, " Capitol / March 4, 1841 ," with representation of Capitol at center, enclosed by floral wreath. Probably published for the inauguration ceremonies, as cataloged in Sullivan, WHH 1840-22.Condition: Surface wear to medal, including tarnish. Rim damage.
