This Cochise County Arizona quart was found out in the desert many years ago near Nevada. The bottle is in very good shape, with no chips, pings or dings. It has those overall haze lines, and light wear from being buried in the dry soil. The old personalized wheel cut cursive lettering is easy to read.*It simply reads ~ "WILLCOX / DAIRY". On the lower heel it is embossed ~ "One Quart". On the base it reads ~ "23 7", as this milk bottle was made at the Los Angeles, California Owens-Illinois glass plant in 1937. This thick clear glass example from the southwest measures 9 3/4 inches tall, and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. An old milk cap is in place.*The town of Willcox, Arizona is located in the Sulphur Springs Valley. Originally named "Maley", the town was founded in 1880 as a whistle stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad, because of the position approximately between El Paso, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona.
