Walter Anderson (1903-1965) Limited Edition Numbered Framed Calendar Prints. The month and day as well as the print number in the series (100 total prints of each day) are clearly seen. Each is impressed with the estate stamp. Walter Anderson's art is original, unique and internationally recognized. He produced much of it while living in solitude on Horn Island, indulging his lifelong curiosity and connection to the natural world. Reading the work of Mexican artist Adolfo Best Maugard and that of Jay Hambidge, from whom he learned respectively the seven motifs of primitive art and the concept of dynamic symmetry in art, he crystallized his understanding of art. For him it was the fusion of man's experience with nature itself. He wrote of being "entranced" while painting. I purchased these at the Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs, MS in the 1990's, then had them professionally double matted and framed. The mats are two shades of blue and the frames are wood and could be repainted. Measurement of framed piece: 13 1/4 H x 11 1/8 W. These can be picked up in New Orleans or in St. Francisville, LA. If you only want the prints and the matting (but for the same price), I will ship them in the 48 contiguous states without frames and glass. Please message me about that. Otherwise, they can be picked up in New Orleans or in St. Francisville, read more
