For sale is an absolutely beautiful little woven silk tapestry of The Man With The Golden Helmet by Rembrandt. These little tapestries were made by the Warner Woven Label Co. (W.W.L. Co.)as attachments to their yearly calendars sent to their client base. I purchased about 20 of these many many years ago at an estate sale near Paterson NJ (where W.W.L. Co. was situated) and I have a whole series of them framed in my home. This one did not fit with the grouping I framed and it was left aside.The colors are beautiful with lots of depth and sheen. Framing does preserve it but unfortunately you cannot touch and feel the fibers. But maybe that is a good thing! Measurement of the actual portrait is 2" x 2.5". It's hard to believe there is so much detail in such a little portrait, and done on silk, no less. Just gorgeous.
