Vw Golf MK1 GTI Cabriolet 1984 I bought this car to break for the engine and gearbox for another project but I have run out of time and it is far too good for this fate. The car is as you see in the pictures. It has had a bit of a bump in the front left wing and front panel (the crumple zone has survived and the car comes with the panel to repair this damage) there is rust on both rear arches (one has masking tape over it for the MOT) and the normal spare wheel-well to rear valance but only a bit of surface. Every panel has some sort of little car park dent or bubble of rust. The folding hood is in great shape with no rips, tears or wear. The head-liner is also ok but needs a good clean. The driver’s seat has the normal bolster wear, the rest of the seats have hot rock holes and general wear for a car of this age. The dash is good but the door tops are cracked. The MFA doesn’t work on the instruments, the oil light starts flashing soon after the engine has started but there is nothing wrong with the oil or oil pressure, so I expect the sender needs changing. I will have a go at sorting this problem before the end of the auction. All the three instruments in the center console work including the oil pressure gauge. The engine starts first time every time.
