Vintage Royal Albert Old Country Roses 25th Anniversary teacup & saucer, in original box . Saucer is 5.5" diameter, cup is 3.5" diameter x 3" tall. As one might guess, the design is a pastoral English countryside with a rose garden in the forefront. The cup shows a woman under a rose arch outside a quaint cottage and the image is repeated on the plate. Rims are gilded. Plate is marked on the bottom: "To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Old Country Roses/ Royal Albert Bone China/ England/ c. 1986 Royal Albert Ltd". The box is red and blue and is labeled: "Royal Albert English Bone China/ Celebration/ From Englad with Love/ Stoke-on-Trent, England." It has writing on it: "Cup from Aunt Nora '04". Aunt Nora had excellent taste! Also, I love English town names: Stoke-on-Trent, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Nether Wallop, to name a few.
