Bidders/Collectors: Description: 1 World War II gendaito Japanese Army Officer's samurai sword in exceptional condition available. It is difficult to find a shin-gunto sword in this condition. This sword was made early in the War. This army gendaito sword was traditionally made ( water-tempered , and made from tamahagane ). This sword was made by Masayasu . (Mano) Masayasu placed in the 4th seat class at the 1941 Sword Exhibition. This WWII Japanese army officer's sword would make an important addition to any collection. *** Now with lots of additional photos--scroll down to see additional photographs. *** The nakago (blade tang) is signed ' BISHU JU MANO MASAYASU KITAU KORE '. The blade measures 26 1/16" (66.2 cm), as measured from the blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the mune (spine).
