RARE figurine candle holder by artist JASON CHRISTOBLE is from the MATCHLESS GROVE SERIES. This candle holder is called Father Christmas. It's an advent calendar by Jason Christoble. You light one a candle per week in December. He is a "SPIRIT" and is a nicely detailed hippie looking fellow. He has glass eyes to glow with the candle light I put a purple tea light in for effect. Jason began to make these characters in the 1970's and marketed them, starting in 1975, in California. This piece is made from WYNDSHIRE CLAY and is a sturdy washable stoneware . It is thick and is 6.5 inches tall. This candle holder has a hole for a taper candle or you could use a votive, or my choice, a 3 inch battery operated candle. He is AWESOME! This one was made in 1980, 38 years old. Please see photos for more detail.
