Antique Amber Sunglasses/Scenery or Shooting Spectacles.You are bidding on a pair of Antique Amber Tinted Sunglasses.The wire frames are dark goldtone metal and the lenses are amber. The amber lenses are ground or sanded glass with a polished circular area in the center.Some people say these are sharpshooter glasses, but I've also read that around 1897 they were also marketed to tourists as Scenery Spectacles, improving the view and soothing the eyes.Width of Frames with End Pieces - 4 " Width of Frame - 4" Lenses - 1" x 1" each Temples -5" (measured with cloth tape)The left lens has a tiny scratch, as seen in the photos, and the wire arms have a slight bend. The glasses sit on the nose well. The goldtone metal frame has darkening.This is a wonderful pair of antique Amber Sunglasses...or scenery/shooting spectacles.
