Vintage Victorian/Edwardian Rolled Gold Pinchbeck Enamel Heart Pendant and Chain This auction is for a great lot, a very beautiful and unusual highly detailed heart pendant and chain.I know very little about this item, though I have been told it could be Victorian or Edwardian and looks like some form of Pinchbeck or Rolled Gold, though both the pendant and chain are unmarked. This is obviously a nice quality piece with the puffed heart being highly decorated with detailed scroll work and a beautiful red enamel ribbon effect. The heart has been made up in electro-form, meaning there is a small hole on the reverse where the wax would have drained out during casting. The chain on this item is very unusual and feels like very good quality with all the links etcetera being soldered.I'm not sure if the chain is original to the heart, but it certainly looks about the right age range. The chain measures 26 inches in length, so is a good long length and fastens with a secure bolt ring closure. This is a very nice quality item and in all my years of jewellery collecting I've never seen one quite like it.The item could benefit from a good clean, but I would prefer to leave this to the new owner. This is a beautiful piece of vintage jewellery, ideal for a gift or keepsake.Check out my other items !
