DESCRIPTION: This vintage stereoview is a street corner scene from Second and Water streets in Newburgh, New York. Water street was one of the busiest shop and commercial areas of the town. There are women window shopping in the window for Purdy's. The biggest building has I.O. O.F. lettered across the top. There is a stop-watch sign on the wall above the awning sign for Chapman's Bakery. To the right of the bakery is the Sanxay business. Men, carriages, a corner clock pole and gaslights are on the sidewalks lining the cobblestone streets. The back of this view has handwriting which tells the location of the photo. CONDITION: This stereoview has light bumps, peels and creases on the edges and corners of the mount. There is some age and wear staining on the front and back of this stereoview. Both photos have superficial scratches, scuffs and spots. This stereoview is in very good condition. Please see my other auctions for more vintage items - I'm happy to combine shipping.
