This is a vintage SMITH ASTRAL MADE IN ENGLAND (on face of clock) brass ships clock. The case is heavy brass, and has no damage, there is a door covering the clock with good hinge and catch, there is thick glass on the door covering the clock face. the clock face is in good condition, with no cracks or scratches, as is the glass. the hands have no damage or rusting. the clock has its own key, and winds on the front of the face. It works well and keeps good time. The base is 8 inches diameter, the widest part at the top is 7 inches diameter, the face is 5 3/4 inches diameter, and it is 3 1/2 inches high. A very nice item.
