This is a vintage oak office desk, probably made in the 1940s/1950s. It is compact in size, measuring 48 inches wide, 30 inches deep and 30 inches high. It has six drawers including one of double depth and two pull-out pieces, one each side, providing additional work surface. The desk has all its original wooden handles. The desk is grubby and well used and has some scratches, marks and variations in colour. There is a particularly bad circular mark on the surface which is visible in the second picture. The top is oak veneer, which has some nibbles around the edges. Some of the drawers have grooves for dividers which are missing. There is a lock in the central drawer but no key. But it is a solid, sturdy and original piece of furniture. The desk will come apart for ease of transport - about a dozen screws to be unscrewed. Pick up in person please from Oxford (OX3 9DW) with cash on collection, not paypal. Inspection before bidding is welcome. Thank you for looking.
