PLEASE NOTE:The pinback is a little brighter and does not have the pinkish tinge seen above. The blue lettering is just slightly brighter. It looks great! The opening bid is our reserve. This is a very interesting vintage pinback button. It is a Committee badge for the Revell "Open" Custom Car Contest. We believe this to be a rare Revell piece. We are not experts on the Contest and believed it started in 1963. Boys who won would get a deluxe trip to Southern California and a red carpet tour of Disneyland, Hollywood and more. This badge is from the early years of the contest. The front is in immaculate condition and the back has a little bit of rust and oxidation. The pin portion is brass. The manufacturer's name is on the side and is by Western Badge and Trophy Company in Los Angeles. The plastic or celluloid on the edges of the badge are a little discolored. It is about 2 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches. What a great and unusual Revell Custom Car Contest! Shipping rates are higher for international buyers.
