Vintage Pelham Puppet: Mitzi and Original Box. This is Mitzi, a very old Pelham Marionette in her original box. She is about 13” tall and has all her parts. She has a little paint loss under her cheek. Her strings are a mess and should be replaced. The strings are sold on-line for a very reasonable price. I started collecting Pelham Puppets in the 1940’s being a huge fan of Howdy Doody. Pelham Puppets were simple wooden marionette puppets made by Bob Pelham, starting in 1947. Later I discovered the wonderful Hazelle Puppets, as well. I played with the puppets as a child and used them to tell stories to my children. As a teacher, I used the puppets to entertain my students. I have decided to put my collection up for sale so that others can now get pleasure from these collectibles. None of my puppets are like new. Most need new strings which can be purchased easily on-line. I have several still in the original boxes. Please contact me with any information that you may want to share. I will be listing the first four Pelham marionettes separately. Should you want more than one they can be shipped together for a huge reduction of the shipping price than for each separately. Email me and I will make a special combined listing for you. Or purchase what you want and I will refund the extra shipping cost.
