Miss Bergdorf Dress click on the photos above for supersize images Offered for consideration is a sweet vintage red dress by Bergdorf Goodman. We have never sold vintage clothing before, and will attempt to describe this as best we can. We are guessing that this dates from the mid 1950s to the mid1960s. The tag sewn on the interior is marked: Miss Bergdorf ... Bergdorf Goodman ... 746 Fifth Avenue - New York. We think the dress' material may be silk, if not then perhaps satin; it is a bit shiny and stiff. We think that this would be classified as a cocktail dress perhaps, or just a Sunday special. It has little cap (?not sure if that's the official name for them) sleeves and a sweetheart (?again not sure of the nomenclature) neckline. Beginning at the fitted waist, five scalloped layers of the lace-like material cascade to the hem. The zipper at the back begins just below the waistline and goes to the neckline. Underneath is a petticoat, some type of netting, tulle perhaps? are the measurements, as best as we could manage. All of the measurements are approximate and measured laying flat.
