Hi, Up for bid beautifull RARE MILES CITY / HIGH BACK BEAR TRAP saddle, # 5 !!!!!!! I beleive this saddle dates from the late 1800s to early 1900s This saddle has 17" swells a true bear trap WIDOW MAKER This saddle is marked in at least 6 places with number 5 in the seat This Saddle belongs to a collector but I have ridden in it ( I could not help myself ) it looks so nice on my red quarter mare, The seat is high and very roomy with a 17" wide bear trap front THIS SADDLE IS BUILT TO HOLD YOU IN PLACE !!!! This is an awsome saddle in sound usable condition It still has the original brass conchoes, some one added another set on top of those, It has the original rawhide wrap on the horn but that is worn and fraying at the top.... the leather underneath is good The leather is clean and soft The tree and horn are solid and sound Tooled stirrup leathers run down the out side of the fenders , but straps have been added behinde the fenders and riveted in, it looks like it was done many years ago, you can see this in the pics The real lambs whool fleece is in good condition very thick and soft It is rare to find These saddles of this age still in sound condition condition The seat is 14" very roomy seat Gullet is 6 This saddle would be great for almost any type of rideing, it would make an awsome roper or cutter, I have even
