Vintage Mid 20thC # 5280 Margot De Taxco Mexican Silver Necklace & Bracelet Set Up for bids is this fantastic necklace and bracelet set by Margot van Voorheis Carr, better known as Margot de Taxco. This is an original edition and not a later copy, and both pieces bear the design number of 5280. Margot's design numbers began with 5100 through 5790, according to Morrill & Berk in their book, Mexican Silver. Her history is fascinating. Margot opened her first shop in 1948 and she also created many of the designs for Los Castillo before her marriage to Antonio Castillo ended. Her work is well respected and highly desirable to collectors. Margot designed every single piece that her company produced. Her insistance on meticulous production techniques resulted in a high level of workmanship for every piece she signed. The full stamp on both pieces reads, Margot de Taxco Made in Mexico 5280 and the Eagle 16 assay mark. Measurements: The necklace is 16" long x 3/4" wide and the bracelet is 7 1/2" long x 1 3/8" wide.
