Figurine of a country boy with two geese A beautiful figurine made by Metzler & Ortloff of Ilmenau Thuringia Germany Designed by Siegismund Wernekinck (1872-1921) It features a young country boy holding two geese and a long stick He is wearing a blue hat with a flower and light blue jacket, grey/blue jeans with holes at the knees and grey shoes The geese are white with blue/grey detail The overall detail of the piece is of a very high standard The makers mark to the base in green features a crown above M over O inside a circle. Underneath is Germany. This is the standard export mark used between 1923 and 1972 There is also the impressed number 7212 A truly remarkable example of German workmanship.
