This beautiful vintage brooch is rectangular in shape and made of brass with a round, faceted purple stone which appears to possibly be amethyst. There are two serpents twining down the sides, with a lovely floral and scroll motif flanking the center stone. The pinback has been slightly bent from use, but is still in proper working order. The brass has tarnished from age, and the stone has several small chips and scratches in it. Overall measurement of the brooch is 3" x 1 3/4", and the round stone measures 3/4" in diameter. A truly beautiful, unique piece!
