Vintage Jean Henry Original Theorem Painting - Dutch Love Birds on VelvetA great piece of American folk art in miniature! Measures 2" x 2" (4" x 4" framed). Stand not included,Artist Jean Henry is a Virginia native, born in 1945. She received an Associate of Art degree from Christopher Newport University in 1956, a Bachelor of Arts degree with an English major and a fine arts minor from Old Dominican University in 1967, and a Master of Arts degree in English from ODU in 1968.In 1980, she learned the art of theorem painting and began to sell her work through sales representatives in stores and museum shops across the country. In 1998, she began marketing her theorems exclusively at fine art and craft shows, mostly in the Northern Virginia area, where she still lives.She continues to design approximately fifty new theorems a year. She hand paints all of her art work and mounts it in frames made for her by her husband.The painting is on velvet and t he back is covered with a decorative paper. There is a metal hook on the back for hanging.
